Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, José has lived most of his life in San Antonio, Texas and most recently with his wife, Catherine Haffner.
Originally a graphic artist that specialized in architectural illustrations, he has in the last few years expanded into the fine arts, which seems to be his true calling.
José is well known for his whimsical portraits of animals which include his “Happy Hour” series as well as his expressive landscapes and classic old world paintings of buildings and landmarks.
His paintings have found homes in several countries, including Malaysia, Croatia, Slovenia, as well as all across the U.S.
