Colin Turner’s preferred media is that of oils. Before paint hits the canvas, the artist takes pride in researching the background of his subjects and figures. A painting of an unmanned aerial vehicle, still on the drafting boards at the time was commissioned by Mission Technologies, Inc., and appeared in Aviation Week to complement an article on the growing area of unmanned systems. He has attended the late Sergei Bongarts School of Fine Arts and several Cowboy Artist Worshops. Colin Turner’s work has been displayed in several galleries and shows. In addition , Colin assisted sculptor Erik Christianson on the large than life size bronze of historical figure Juan sequin that now graces city of Seguin’s main square.
In the commercial arts field Colin Turner has worked in both Los Angeles and San Antonio, supplying the advertising industry with finished illustrations, in addition to concepts and story boards. He works in all medias from pen and ink to watercolor to magic markers depending on what the job requires. Has worked on many high profile accounts such as Coca Cola, Church’s Fried Chicken, Sprint, Levi’s, Moet Chandon, Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort, Gunn Auto Dealership, IBC Banc and USA Mordern Petathlon
